My name is Mark and this is my 12 week body challenge journey.

I started my fitness journey just like anyone else. I wanted to get healthier and look great!

So, let me take you back to how this whole thing started to give you a better understanding of where I started from.

I started this 12 week body challenge when I weighed at my heaviest: 265 pounds. At the time I was wearing 2XL in men’s t-shirt, and I was wearing 42 pants.

The thing that motivated me to get healthier was my sister’s comment “OMG… Look at yourself in the mirror…. You look FAT!!!” She said that with a disgusted look on her face.

The next day I went to the gym and talked to a personal trainer.

The trainer did the fitness assessment measures: height, weight, body composition, blood pressure, muscular endurance, cardiovascular endurance, flexibility and asked me about my family medical history.

At the end to the assessment, the trainer said based on the results I am considered to be obese and I’m on the borderline of being diabetic (diabetes run in my family. Both my mom and dad have it. They take medicine for it).

That assessment scared the shit out of me. Right there and then I said to myself: I know I am FAT today but one day I won’t be.

From that day onward, I got serious about getting and staying healthier!

I went online and I research a lot of different kind of exercise programs and diet plans. Some seemed realistic and others not so much. So, I took a few things from one plan and few from another plan to create a custom 12 week body challenge plan to fit my needs.

My first day in the gym was very interesting one. I started off with doing dumbbell curls (get ready for this) with five pound dumbbells. I bench-pressed total of 45 pounds (yup…just the bar).

I didn’t care because the way I looked at it was everyone has a starting point. So, that was mine.

Every week I kept adding more weights and I was getting stronger and stronger. After a month of continuous working out and eating clean, I was started to see some serious results.

 

At the end of my first 12 week body challenge, I couldn’t be happier with my results:

I have been on doing this for a while now and I have lost close to 70 pounds.
